Eureka Project
The Netia VA-IP project (Video & Audio via IP) was awarded the European EUREKA label.
This project opens the door to a new generation of audio-video technology. It concerns the development, industrialization, and worldwide marketing of an Audio/Video switching system that will use a single IT network : IPv6. Eventually media industry will be able to significantly reduce its broadcasting costs and improve system performance and interactivity.
EUREKA is an intergovernmental program to support technological cooperation involving 33 countries in Europe and the European Union. This label encourages cooperation between business and research institutes, as part of market-oriented R&D projects, whose results are owned by manufacturers.
Mobility
Today the requirements are met for the fast integration of image and video in telecommunications departments. That is why Netia has developed a close partnership with components manufacturers and telecommunications operators ; the former offer UMTS terminals for Internet/telephony convergence, while the latter supply the infrastructure.
